Earl James Reynolds was born and raised in Montana. He trained under chefs in Seattle and worked for fine dining restaurants up and down the West Coast. From the very beginning, his training cultivated in him a passion for seasonal cooking, for knowing food and how to move with it. As a native, he has experienced the uniqueness that Montana brings to cuisine and has taken care to cultivate partnerships with local vendors and source food from the Valley. He has a playful and innovative style and loves to make adventurous food feel accessible and exciting to his guests.
Coming from an Italian and Indian background, Shyamali Malakar was surrounded by rich food cultures at a young age. She has worked in many facets of the industry across the west coast, from her family's tiny pasta restaurant to fine dining at the highest levels and has developed a keen passion for sharing the stories a wine pairing experience can tell. Her excitement for guiding others through these experiences is palpable, and she strives to create memorable wine adventures in the dining room. She employs a personalized approach and seeks to turn each dining experience into an inviting opportunity to try something new. Collaborating closely with our kitchen team, she designs creative and seasonal cocktails to mirror and complement our menus.
With her exceptional attention to detail, her understanding of the way all aspects of a restaurant work together, and her heart for people, Stephanie Meyers stewards Stone Hill in a way that conveys excellence and enables people to feel at home. She is a helping hand and a familiar face. She’s an organizer and a creative problem solver. Her intentionality creates space to highlight the artistry of the food and celebrate the experiences of the guests who come through the door.
Both Montana natives, Andrew and Bonnie Matosich are as storied as the menu ingredients. They grew up deeply rooted in the authenticity of Montana values and found themselves pulled back again and again, despite careers that took them all over the world. Both worked for the CIA, and later Bonnie became an executive with the Walt Disney Company and Andrew became a partner with Summit Entertainment. In retirement, they decided to return to the sense of belonging that Montana offers, and Stone Hill is the outpouring of their passion for sharing that sense with others.
Some of their most treasured memories are ones of sharing conversation with friends over a meal. Stone Hill is an extension of their home, an invitation to share in the ethos that good food fills us and that life is better when we’re present with one another.
